Award Categories and Criteria
Student Success Champion Award - This award acknowledges an employee who demonstrates commitment to the inclusion of all perspectives, someone who promotes/develops/considers processes that are considerate of the campus’s background and actively works to remove barriers to success.
Teamwork & Campus Partnership Award - This award celebrates employees who have supported colleagues in meeting goals, deadlines, and responsibilities, who have coordinated cross-divisionally to develop solutions or collaborated on a project or process that best serves our campus community. Nominees for this award promote a collaborative work environment and value the perspectives of others. * (this award can include employees from across campus, however, only A & F employees will be recognized at the A & F Annual Division Awards Ceremony). Teams are more than one, but fewer than 10 people.
Excellence in Service & Leadership Award - This award identifies employees who consistently demonstrate outstanding service, exemplary performance, and a strong commitment to the Division’s mission and values. Recipients go above and beyond their regular duties, serve as positive roles models, and make meaningful contributions to the campus community.
Exceptional Work Commendations (primarily CSUF PD) - This award recognizes lifesaving commendations and or safety accomplishments.
Awards – Unit Level
Process: Each administrative unit will establish the selection process to facilitate awards in March and September. A&F Awards are open to staff and administrators within the Division of Administration & Finance.
Eligibility: Award Categories are open to all Administration and Finance employees. All campus employees have the ability to nominate an Administration and Finance employee, and all nominees are eligible to win an award. *Non-Administration and Finance employees can only be included for the Teamwork & Campus Partnership Award.
Nomination Form: The online Awards Nomination Form will be available within the Division of Administration & Finance website for employees to submit nominations for each of the categories. Consider the criteria and use specific examples, evidence and the University’s mission and strategic goals to inform your response. Unit Award & Recognition: Winners will receive a certificate, a gift bag of CSUF gear, and be recognized at a unit department/meeting or event.
Awards – Division Level
Process: In October, A&F Senior Leadership Team members will “roll-up” top nominations for each of the awards categories from their departments’ recognition strategies to the A&F divisional awards committee.
Divisional Awards Committee: A divisional committee will be formed with members from each administrative area to review and score submissions. The total scores from each committee member will be calculated on a master score sheet. The nominations with the highest average scores for each of the award categories will be named the winner. In the event of a tie, the Vice President for Administration & Finance/CFO will be required to vote when a tie breaker is required. Division award winners will be finalized by the last week of November.
Division Award & Recognition: One (1) Division Award winner from each award category will be awarded annually and be recognized at the annual Division Breakfast event in January. Winners will receive an engraved plaque, a luncheon with the Vice President, and recognition on the A&F Division website.
